"the costume was nice the sizing was kind of off I'm a size 18 and the costume size was 18-20 but I had to take it in abough 4 in it was so big but it was very ez to take it in. the dress is very thin so I had to ware a slip and the crown is useless but for the price it was great I got a lot of complements on it. The shipping was so great I orderd at 3:30on monday and receved it on Tuesday around 2:00 I was just blowen over by how fast it got here.thank you"

"I wear like a size 20 and this outfit is much bigger than it indicates. it is also made for someone who is closer to 5'5 and over. I think it you wear a size 22 or above and are taller than 5'5 this will be wonderful for you otherwise be ready to make some size alterations."

"I receieved my order really fast...always do with buyCostumes. This costume is very generous and will acommodate larger than a 18-20 the belt they send with the outfit lets you be able to ajust it to fit you.

I am very happy with my overall purchase I am making this into a cupid costume I replaced all the gold ribbon with red ribbon and placed hearts along the gold trim in the front. I am pairing it with some wings and a cupid bow and arrow. It turned out super cute!

My only complaints:
-The dress is see through so a slip or something will have to be worn underneath.
- The headband they send is completely worthless :)
-The gold ribbon they supply is cheap and scratchy
-The gold trim in the middle doesn't go all the way around

This is a great costume for the money, I would def. recommend this you can do so much with it."

"The size 18-20 is absolutely HUGE. I'm an 18 and I'm swimming in fabric. I seriously think it could fit up to about a 24. I'm not sure how the XL fits but I really wish I would have ordered size that instead. I like the dress but I'm going to have to tie and pin it up all over the place. The crown is not cute, but I'm going to cover it with snakes and be Medusa. The dress is pretty though, especially for the price."

Title: A lot of "Bang for your Buck" Date: April 2, 2009
"I purchased this costume for my daughter who is 5'9", weighs 170 lbs, and usually wears a junior size 13. The costume is really roomy, but it is fully adjustable with the strings on the shoulders. I do suggest that you have someone help you put it on, otherwise adjusting the stings will be quite difficult.

The only thing I found to be lacking in quality, was the headpiece. It was a hassle to keep it in place and the elastic band attached to it, was of no use. I resolved the issue by using hair clips and covering them with her hair.

The costume is really affordable, and the quality is just right for the price. This was used for a school play and I think the costume really stood out. We received a lot of compliments and a few of the moms even asked me where the costume had been purchased."

"Being plus size, I was worried about the size of the costume. Most plus size costumes run very small. It's always hard to find something that's comfortable and fits the way you want it to without trying it on first. I was very happy with this costume! It does run quite big....I wear an 18/20 and this costume was very loose. However, the gold belt straps make it easy to adjust to your size. I'd much rather have a costume that's a little too big, than too small! The gold shoulder straps were a bit flimsy and made me feel like they might tear at any second, but a few safety pins and they felt secure. Overall, I had a great time in this costume and for the first time, I didn't feel like I was being squeezed into a costume too small for my size. My husband wore the purple Julius Caesar costume and we received many compliments. Thanks buycostumes.com!!"

Title: just what I was looking for! Date: November 6, 2008
"Being plus size makes Halloween a little more difficult, but this costume was exactly right! While it does run large, I read the other reviews and knew what I was getting in to. I sewed the gold rope belt on to the costume in several places to help the belt keep its shape, and did a tack stitch to the sheer white "sleeves" to keep them in place. I did not have a problem with the sheerness of the costume, but I do live in CA and it was not that cold out. I wore it for a Medusa costume, and even won a prize! I glued the snakes to the foam crown, so I even made use of something fairly useless. Great value, great costume, highly recommend for anyone looking!"

"This plus sized costume truely is plus sized! I ordered my normal size and found it to be a little larger. The gold cording and neckline make it easy to adjust so that you have the right fit.

The material was just a little too shear for me so I wore a camisole and slip under the dress."

"I must be honest and say I chose this costume because it was very inexpensive compared to others. I am glad I did. It's like a lot of costumes not the best of fabric but it flows very nicely.
It was a little bit big so I'll have to pin the skirt but I've got no problem with that. I usually wear an 18 if I were to order again I'd order the next size down.
I can't wait to wear this costume on Halloween!!!"

"The costume is quite an awkward fit. The "sleeves" are held in place by gold ribbons on the top... and like a hooded sweatshirt, those ties slip into the costume quite easily. Without them, you have no sleeves anymore, just a white sack. The costume does fit larger than a size 20 too, so that is nice... but the fit is so awkward... I am not sure I can wear it. I am 5'9" tall and it drags on the ground. Plus, those sheer drapes that she has on her arms are really hard to position. Crown is cheap and useless."

"I wore this costume for a halloween party six years ago and I loved it! I still have the costume as a matter of fact. At the time I was a size 16 and the dress was big on me. However, the gold rope/belt helped form the dress to my body, and it looked fantastic! I would recommend this costume to everyone!"

"Not happy with this purchase at all. its big enough, thats for sure. so if your worried it won't fit, thats not a problem. mine arrived with a stain on it. also that little gold layer in the front doesn't go all the way around, plus, its open underneath. i don't know why. its made like a nursing bra. I would not recommend this one to any one. and it looks really dopey on. i was very disapoined."

"I bought this costume after reading a review that said it was larger than what it says. I am a size 28 and the lady said it could fit a size 32 so I took a chance and ordered it. Wow I was so happy when I got it and tried it on !!! It is very large en fits me well without being body hugging. I am also tall (5'10'') and the dress goes down to my feet wich is a plus !!! It is super pretty too !! I can't wait to wear it for our Halloween party. It is not easy to find a costume when you are my size (28) but this website really helped me and I will be back again, thanks !"

"I just received this item over the weekend. It took about two weeks to arrive from the date I ordered with normal shipping. I was very excited to get it so of course, I had to try it on! When I tried to put it on, the problems began. There is a gold string through both the front and the back of the dress that make the dress stay on. Be VERY careful when untying the strings because it is very difficult to get the stings out of their holes if they slip in. I spent at least 40 minutes trying to fix this problem (it happened twice to me!) Once I finally was able to get the dress on, it looked very nice. I wear a 18/20 (I'm smaller on top and bigger on bottom) and I felt it was true to size since I ordered it as an 18/20. I agree with everyone who said that you need to wear a slip underneath because it is pretty see-through. The crown is foam and pretty cheap looking. I probably won't wear mine and will probably buy a replacement crown. I am buying jewelry and gold shoes to wear along with this in order to make a complete the outfit. Overall, it's just an okay costume but I kind of wish I would have bought a different one instead. You get what you pay for!"
