"I ordered this for my son along with the robe, tie, and glasses. He is going to be Harry Potter for Halloween. He tried everything on as soon as it arrived and didn't want to take it off. "My son really enjoys the wand however once I put the batteries in the cover wouldn't close properly so I had to take pliers to cut some plastic off of it for a better fit. We were both a little disappointed in the sounds because in the movies the sounds that come from Harry's wand are considerably quieter but all in all, for the price, its a good Halloween piece for kids."

"My 2 year old son received this for Christmas. This was one of his FAVORITE gifts. The lights and sounds are really fun and the price is great. He has gotten a lot of enjoyment out of it. He did, unfortunately, slam it onto the carpet one day so now we have to watch that it doesn't separate at the seam, however, it seems to easily snap back into place when this occurs."

Title: Replacement for another one. Date: January 12, 2009
"My daughter received one of these before Halloween for her 9th birthday. She was Hermione for Halloween and took this with her trick or treating. That one broke in November. The mechanism that interpreted movement and activated the sound and lights broke. I opened it up and could not repair it.

Found out later that the kids were playing at a family Halloween gathering and someone decided to use the wand for a pool cue. That might be why it broke.

So I gutted it and she had been playing with it as just a silent wand. Checked in here and saw it at a really good sale price and took the chance to buy it and also the Hermione wand that is just a silent wand."

"My boys, ages 9 and 6, absolutely LOVE their wands! They go around hexing each other all afternoon. I'm sure I will have to change the batteries before Halloween! Bought on sale here, and the fact that they light up and make a few different sounds, quite a bargain."

"I bought 2 wands for my kids for Christmas. One did not work at all the other works sometimes after tinkering with it. I ordered one additional wand that actually works. When working they are very cool and the kids just love them. Just dont expect a lot for your money and definitely only pay sale price-because they are very cheaply made. My 8 and 6 year olds give it high ratings for fun!"

"The wand arrived yesterday--my son has been waiting for it eagerly--and it has hardly been out of his hand. He is a huge fan of the HP movies--the books are a bit beyond his reading skills yet--and he is running around the house yelling "Expelliarmus!", "Stupefy!", etc. My husband tried to unscrew the compartment to put in batteries and was unable--he is going to try again today with another screwdriver. Even without the light and sound, son is having a great time with it."

"My eight year old son loved this wand. I think this was the only reason he wanted to be Harry Potter. He enjoyed "casting spells" on everyone he met. Everyone else wanted to play with it too. The tip lights up when you wave it and it makes a couple of different sounds. It is definitely worth the money. You just need to be careful and not hit anything hard with it, then it needs to be taken apart and fixed, though it is easily fixed."

"This wand was purchased as a prop for my son's Halloween costume, though he's been playing with it early. It's supposed to swish and make magical noises, but only does so occasionally. To get it to work properly, my son has taken to rapping the bottom (where the battery case is) on the ground which allows the batteries to connect better. Two times out of three, the noises and light will work. Then, it quits and has to be rapped again. It's been like this since we removed it from the package. New batteries don't help. I recommend getting a lower-tech wand if you're looking for a good Harry Potter prop."
