"this wand is good if you want Hermione's wand and can not find it in the stores. It is a good price considering Party City had harry's wand for 9.99. You save three dollars or so from ordering it off buycostumes.com. It is a decent quality perfect for ages 10+ for a costume. i liked it and my brother got to be Harry so it was perfect for Halloween."

Title: Not casting any spells Date: November 4, 2007
"The main problem with this wand is that the paint peels off very easily. From the moment it came out of the package the olive/grayish paint that gives this wand character had begun peeling off, which is a bit of a hazard where young children are concerned. We ended up peeling off all the paint so as to avoid paint peelings dropping all over the place. Now the wand is black. Don't understand why they coudn't have just made this out of olive/gray plastic instead of using this cheap paint over black plastic. Hermione would not be impressed."

"In the picture, the wand seems little and intricately detailed but it is about a foot in length and kind of thick. The design is good for littler kids who would have trouble gripping a skinny wand. My daughter really loves it (she's 7). She plays with it all the time with friends. It was definitely a worthwhile purchase."

"This is really only a long piece of molded plastic. But for 5 bucks I would say it is quite worth it. My son loves to play with it and pretend that he is casting spells on everyone. He doesn't care what it's made of, and I only care that he is getting hours worth of fun out of it!"

"I bought this wand in addition to the HP light up wand--my daughter likes them both very much-- while this one does not have light and sound, it is actually preferable when your child wants to play along while watching the movie as the sound effects are pretty sensitive in the light-up/sound wand-- this one is nice if junior also happens to fall asleep with the wand in bed as it will not wake them up when he/she roles on it (not that anything like that has ever happened in our house!)"
