Box includes an audio input jack on back of unit to connect a CD Player to play CD. Box is approximately: 6.5” Long x 5” Wide x 2.75” High. Plugs into any standard AC outlet. Includes 1 extra fuse. Unit has a volume control on the front.

"I purchased this to add to my haunted house Halloween party this year and as soon as it arrived I tested it out. I love the effect of the flickering lights!! Adds an instant spookiness to your haunted house. You don't need an audio cable as outlined; which was a bonus. The unit has a built in microphone that will pick up the sound in the room and flicker the lights so all you need to do is place the unit near you boom box or speaker. If you put it on the most sensitive setting it will pick up the smallest sound and flicker the lights. The higher setting will also keep the light on at a dimmer setting and the flicker will then go to the brightness of the bulb. At the lowest setting the micro phone is not as sensitive but will still pick up normal noise such as laughter and the light will start completely off with the flicker lighting up the light and then returning to dark. I would completely recommend this item!!"

"This thing is pretty cool. The only thing I don't like about it is that it starts all lights in the "off" position and flickers them "on" with the sounds. I wish it was the other way around so that your lights could remain "on" then flicker off (like in a real power surge during a thunderstorm.) I've only played with it a ilttle bit, so maybe there's a way to do that. Anyhow, for the clearance price, it's definitely worth some fun."

"This thing is great. The scary CD that comes with it alone is a gem by itself. My dog was trying to get out of the house when I played the CD and hooked up the device to a large lamp. My wife was very impressed and said that it was one of the better things that I have purchased for Halloween (and she doesn't get impressed by many things I buy for this addiction). Worked excellently with just the built in microphone and have not tried the audio input b/c cause the mic worked so well. The sensitivity knob is very good at adjusting how the unit responds to the played CD or other sounds. The overall effect makes you think you are at large theme park haunted house. Great value for the price."

"This little box is great! The front knob controls sensitivity, and at the highest sensitivity the lights plugged in go crazy. You don't need any music at all. The option to run a wire to your stereo or use the microphone is a great bonus. Just remember it only works with lights you plug into it. So no ceiling lights or porch lights. Unless of course you hardware it."

"I was able to create the effect of an elaborate and expensive lighting system by plugging several lights into this device. The lights flickered sporadically as the noise of wind and/or cars driving by activated it. You can adjust its' sensitivity. It looks like an exorcism and lightning strom is going on! I purchased another one so I can add even more lights to it."

"Excellent value on an audio trigger device. You can use this device with the included CD to make lights turn on when the device detects sound. But don't stop there! You can also use this device to control endless types of AC-powered props. Connect a CD or mp3 player to a Y-adapter, with one line connected to the female RCA connector on the back of this device and the other line connected to speakers, or connect this unit directly to a powerful stereo system. Now connect up to 500 Watts of AC-powered lights or props to the outlet on the back of this box. Turn on the unit, play back the audio (music, sound f/x, or voice), and watch your props activate in response to the audio. Use your imagination to create a variety of Halloween props."

"This little gizmo set the stage for the best Halloween party ever! It does NOT come with a cord to plug into a boombox. You simply plug a light into it (or in our case we plugged a power strip into it and then plugged a couple of lamps with colored bulbs into it), place it in a room with a music source close by and it makes the lights in the room flash to the music (it comes with a really good spooky cd)... or lightning sounds or spooky laughs or creeking door etc... It was the BEST halloween decoration we purchased. I loved it so much I went back the day after our party and purchased another one."

Title: Lighning Effects... Huge Bang for the Buck

"Of all my halloween effects this one was the biggest. I bought three of these switches. After a few experiments I found that even though the switch is rated for 500 watts they work best at 250 watts. I hooked up a 250 watt hallogen Home Depot floodlight to each switch. All the switches were placed in a closed shed where I played a thunder and lighning CD (not the included CD... it was good, but too eclectic for my plan). 100+ foot extension cords ran out to the lights. I combined this with four Acoustic Research wireless remote speakers hidden amongst the giant redwoods around my place and this was one HUGE effect. Stereo thunder ripping across hundreds of feet with two full acres of lightning illuminating the tree canopy... raised the hair on even the teenagers. This is not just a strobe. The lightning strikes when the thunder hits. I hope this doesn't raise the price for next year... but this is very cool. I'll be adding a couple more next year..."
