"The flapper dress was super cute and looked great on, but it was very tight and uncomfortable. We left the party early because of that! If it had more "give" like lycra or spandex, it would have been a better product. Still, for the money it worked and I'm happy with the purchase."

"I checked out a few sites and knew I wanted a red flapper costume that wasnt too short. I didnt know what size to order. I read reviews and from other helpful reviews I decided on this one. I am usually a size 10 but ordered xlarge. and was glad I did. It just fit. I also got black fishnet stockings, cigarette holder."

"This was a very nice costume I thought. I am a pretty true size 8 I'd say and ordered a L and it fits perfectly. I wouldn't probably have fit into a M and a large would have fit but wouldn't have been form fitting. The large was just about perfect and did hug the curves but didn't look to snug when on. The dress seems well made but as previous reviews said, despite how the picture looks, some of the fringe is a little sparse across the chest, you can see the fabric through it although it doesn't look bad. Accessories make this dress look good, it only comes with the dress and head piece (in which the feather is too small) but add some pearl strings, black opera gloves and boa and some fish nets and you'll look awesome!"

"I usually wear a size 8 or 10 and ordered a Large thinking that it would have enough wiggle room thru the hips. This dress fit up top just fine, but was skin tight thru the hips (even with spanx). I could only take very short steps in it otherwise it rode up and forget about sitting! Quality seemed nice, but am returning it as there is no way I'm going to be able to wear it."

"My dress size is about 10-12. I read other reviews to order up in size because this dress runs small. I ordered an XL thinking this would probably cover it. It was super-duper snuggly tight! Some women may have wanted this, but I didn't. It was also pretty short for my taste. I returned it. It was actually a cute outfit, just not for me. In my opinion, the XL would have fit a woman size 8 somewhat nicely."

"bought this along with the white flapper dress--for a Dance Duet Competiton. Found the Quality not the same as for the white one. Seemed the fringes were somehow a different quality. The dress was adjusted at the shoulders as it did not seem to hang properly. Also cut off a row of fringe at the bottom and re-hemmed the dress to make it shorter. But, with the addition of a new Larger Red Feather (the one included is really too small ) , and a red boa with gold flecks and gold elbow gloves and garter--the costume was amazing ! The girls won every competition they entered !"

"I bought this dress for a Roaring 20's party. I'm not one to usually buy things online, so I was really nervous. The price seemed reasonable though in case it didn't turn out as well as expected. The dress arrived (in Canada) within a few days of ordering and I couldn't wait to try it on. It fits quite small, especially if you have any hips/chest. I'm usually a Small, but decided to get a medium.... I could wear a Large! The medium is tight in my hips and chest and is quite short, but I'll still wear it. I was a little disappointed with the tassles - you can see a lot of the plain red fabic underneath when I move, but I figure it will be dark so it'll be hard to notice. The head piece is really cheap, so I'll end up making my own. Overall, I'm really excited to wear the dress!"

"I purchased dress for roaring 20's night and received so many compliments I couldn't keep up! I was impressed by the material - quality, and dress very well made. I felt like I was back in Charleston era & felt comfortable and proud of my outfit. The headpiece leaves a bit to be desired but I bought 2 extra red feathers from craft shop, glued them on. With the black fish nets, it just made it! The fit is perfect if you go realistically by the size chart. Thanks buycostumes.com!"
