"These sandals were not what I expected. When laced up as securely as I could get it they still fell down to my ankles when walking. The sole of the shoe was very stiff and cheap. Would not recommend this. Thank goodness they were only twelve dollars!"

"If you are not plaining to climb a mountain and are just chillin inside for the night and you want some thing nice to match your anceint atire then these are perfect... YES they are thin YES the string keeps coming undone if you tie it like the picture but if you think about it they are a great investment for ONE NIGHT.~~~HINT- If you tie them close to your ankles they stay put~~~"

"I read the rest of the reviews, and wondered what these people were expecting for such a low price. Yes, the leaves are only gold on one side, and yes, they don't stay on your legs, and of course, the soles are thin. But I didn't want to spend a ton on a pair of shoes to wear one night. So these were exactly what I was looking for. If you go in to this purchase knowing what you are getting and use a little bit of ingenuity, they look great, and are perfect for a cleopatra costume like I wore. I also got several compliments on them, because who is going to kneel down to check them out that closely? So take into account how much you are paying, and pay attention to how you tie them, and they will do the job."

"Theses are so cheaply made. There is no way you could wear these for a whole night out. And its hard to get them to look like they do because only one side is gold. and they only fit if you wear a size 10..."

"These shoes look fun, but the quality is not very good. I bought them for my tween daughter and they are very flimsy. The part that wraps around your leg is just ribbon and the sole of the shoe is more like a slipper. These would not be good for outdoors."

Title: Terrible!

"I hoped the other reviews were needlessly negative, but I'm afraid they weren't. These are flimsy cardboard "soles" which aren't even thick enough to remain rigid - they flop and bend as you walk, and trip you with every step (and these "fit" me exactly right, they were not too big). The gold leaves and laces are only gold on one side, so you have to be very careful how you wrap and tie them, and then they move around on you immediately and twist to reveal their ugly gray backing. I tried using spirit gum first and then nail glue to glue them in place, and nothing worked - they kept falling around my ankles. Terrible design and worse materials."

Title: you pay $12.00 you get exactly that!

"These sandals were very cute and fit the outfit styly perfectly, BUT they did NOT stay laced up my leg like the picture shows, I tried everything, so finally I got sick of them sliding down and flopping that I just wore them tied around my ankles. So, for what you pay they are fine. Just don't expect them to stay like the picture!"

"I had a lot of fun wearing these shoes this past Halloween. I had several parties to go to - and everybody loved the shoes! They went with my "Roman Lady" outfit very well. The only thing I'd mention is that it would be nice to have the golden leafs double sided. Other than that - it was a fun product! :)"

Title: Flopping feet

"The concept is good and the sandals might have worked had they not been "one size fits"...only women with Fred Flintstone feet. The band of material that is supposed to hold/house your foot in at the front of the sandal is so roomy that it doesn't begin to touch the top of your foot, let alone hold the ssndal on while you're walking. Couldn't keep the sandals on."

Title: More like slippers than sandals

"These sandals have a soft soled bottom so they are more like slippers than sandals. If the event you are going to can take the soft soles then these shoes will do fine. I needed sandals with a leather bottom not a soft bottom. I did have a difficult time lacing them up and getting them to stay in place."

Title: These are bad even for the price

"The quality is horrible! They look like they were put together with a glue stick. I realize that they are incredibly inexpensive but not even worth what I paid. When they say one size fits most.. For women one size fits size 7.5 and up. I wear 6.5 or 7 depending on the shoe and these would have been far too big for me to wear."
