The gathered skirt has a double set of lacing holes in the back of the waistband, which allows for adjustments. The extra-high waistband is superior to elastic ones because it keeps the skirt tucked under the bodice all day. You'll never look disheveled! "Was able to get skirt locally for 40 but I wanted the blue. What came was berry which was a disapointment. So be carefull when ordering, I'm 5'7" and it was almost to long to folk dance in, if you were shorter this coulld be a problem. The flat waist band lays nice under a bodice. It has button holes and lacings to close. A crochet hook is very helpfull getting the sting threw the button holes. The skirt is full and lots of fun to dance in."
