"The hat is fabulous, looks good and is great quality. The only thing that did not meet my expectation is the hat in the photo has that nice sexy curve from front to back but the hat I received is pretty much straight as others have commented in their reviews.

Still this is gorgeous and looks great with my Sexy Pirate Costume."

Title: Very cute hat, not exactly as pictured Date: November 18, 2009
"I bought this hat to wear with the Captain Swashbuckler outfit. It was a great addition to the outfit! One thing I want to point out right away is that my hat did not come with feathers. I wish they didn't picture the hat with items it doesn't come with, but oh well. You can get feathers from a local craft/hobby store. I found them for $2 per feather.

Back to the hat - it really does look great even without the feathers. It isn't as curved as pictured, though I suppose with some effort and patience, that could be remedied. I personally didn't care enough to do something about it. The quality is definitely good for the price, and it fit great. Overall, I'm glad I bought the hat. Just wish it came with the feathers!"

"This hat is BIG and to my surprise, fit my head!! I have very thick hair, so I didn't figure the hat would stay on me, but IT DID!! I'm very pleased with this item and highly recommend it! You'll be pleased as well!! The only thing I didn't care too much for was the price, but the hat is very very nice! And mine didn't come with the black feathers, so I'm not sure if that's a DIY addition or not. If you think your head is large, and that this hat won't fit, you'll be surprised just as I was! BEAUTIFUL BIG PIRATE HAT!! 5/5 stars"

Title: Will shrink on larger heads Date: October 15, 2009
"Either the model in the product picture has an extraordinarily small head or this product is not nearly as large as it looks. I was, of course, aware that there would be some difference between picture and reality (lighting tricks make lame products look fantastic most of the time) but I was quite shocked at just how big the difference between the reality and the picture was. It's not a bad hat, by any means, but the lace is not nearly as wide, and the hat itself is several inches shorter then the picture and not quite as curved . This isn't a problem when you're shopping in a store but when you're shopping online it leads to the baffling conclusion that the models head must be super tiny!

All in all not a bad hat, just not what was expected."

"The hat is pretty much made of styrofoam. There is velcro to sort of hold the sides up. It came out of shape and would need to be put back into shape. But it's just so flimsy I'm not sure how that's possibly, maybe if it was a bit stiffer material. It's also really big. From the side the hat looks like it'd be fine, but from the front it just looked really bad."

"This hat is truly beautiful and exceptionally well made. My only reason for being disappointed is due to the size of my big old head. If you find, like me that most hats designed for woman in stores everywhere are usually too small, or at the very best, fit tightly, than this hat won't fit you either. It does have some give to the material, but with my long hair, it only slides off. Even with the use of hairpins and combs.

I've given the hat to a friend who is also dressing as a pirate and she's delighted with it."

"This hat definitely was the icing on the cake for my costume. It comes with two feathers that you can stick in the top to look like a true pirate. It also stays on pretty well so I don't have to worry about clipping it on or anything. It was a little bent out of shape from the mail but I just set it out for a while and now it's back to normal. If you're a pirate for halloween.. this is a must have!"
