"I wore this costume to my child's Halloween celebration and had a fun time explaining to elementary school kids who Medusa was. From a distance, everyone thought I was the statue of liberty. The dress is very well made and comfortable. The arm bands were hard to keep in place, but looked great. The head piece needs to be adjustable, I had to tie it to keep it on. But overall, it is a great costume and at a great price."

"I bought this costume for my 13-year-old daughter. It fit perfectly, and so many people commented on how great she looked. For parents, let me add that this costume, unlike some of the adult Medusa costumes I saw, is appropriate for a young teenager -not too revealing. Considering the success of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, I'm surprised costume makers haven't jumped on board a little and put out more Greek mythology costumes."
"I found the size to be quite accurate... the back of the dress was a bit long, I had to pin it up (i bought a small, i'm 5'6)... but the quality of the dress was fantastic... the headpiece fit a bit big, but I just might have a small head, lol... a few bobby pins and it was fine. I had GREAT comments all night about it, it really looked fantastic and was really comfortable! Highly recommended :)"

"As stated in previous review, I had to alter the headpiece. Cut it down to about 3 inches wide and wore it like a headband...pulled my hair thru and around it...worked great and stayed on all night. The dress is very long and the back is open..I bought a ghost type cape to keep me warm. worked great. Overall the costume is true to size, I wore a med. I attached two pics..."

"Based on the reviews, I bought this costume with the assumption that I would be altering the head piece and I most definitely will. The Dress is perfect, just like the picture and it fits good. I bought a medium and I'm 5'8 155lb. The back is completely open...just so you know..I will be outside all night, but hopefully dancing so I'll apprciate the open back. The snake head piece has 9 snakes and the one pictured has 11 or so..and the colors are different...however, I will be cutting holes in the top and weaving my hair thru, like the other ladies did. With some black and green streaks painted thru my hair, I will make it work. Overall, its a great costume....I can't wait for Halloween. I'm wearing tall black boots, so the leg straps are a wash...I'll be sure to post a picture!"

"After reading previous reviews I bought a medium. I normally buy a large on all costumes. It does run true to size. I am 5 4" and 140 lbs and the medium fit perfect! The glovettes are a little big at the top so I will have to pin them. Don't bother with the leg ties. The snake headpiece was a better quality than I had expected. I put the elastic strap under my hair. Overall the whole costume was better quality than I had expected!"

"We ordered the Medusa costume for a school mythology project and the costume was a huge hit, in fact the best costume in the program. They even decided to do a parade thru the school and my daughter as Medusa got to lead the whole thing. The costume was everything and more than was expected and the expedition/delivery was fast and fabulous!! We got it in 3 days and LOVE it!! She is now going to use it for Halloween in a haunted house we always put on. Thank you so much for everything!!"

"After reading several reviews where people were not that happy with this purchase, I was pleasantly surprised, I thought it was great. The costume was a little big, I could have ordered a size smaller, I think it runs true to size for dresses. I followed the suggestion of one of the reviews and cut the cap into more of a headband, and I thought it was great. I made matching cobra snake earrings from kids $1 store toys. My only issue was with the leg wraps, they did not stay up, and I ended up taking them off. May have had more to do with my legs, than the wraps though. Lot's of compliments, great costume!"

"I had similar issues as some of the other reviewers with the bunching in the back. I used double sided body tape to help fix it. I also had to use the tape to keep the arm bands on as they kept falling down. The headpiece fit well, even wore a wig underneath it. I didn't bother with the leg wraps - they didn't seem long enough to get the same effect as the picture shows and I'm sure I would have had to use the tape to hold those up as well.
Overall I thought it was a great costume and I was quite happy with it."

"Excellent costume! Sexy, yet not too revealing. Headpiece is not as it appears on the website, snakes are smaller, but workable with a long hair wig (purchased separately). I'm 5'0", the dress was a little too long even w/ heels. Overall, I'm satisfied with the costume. It's very comfortable and I got a lot of compliments! Great buy for price! Also excellent customer service from buycostumes.com =)"
"I just purchased this costume this year and will wear it tonight. I as well as some of the other reviewers had some issues with the head piece. I believe the elastic is supposed to go behind the head but my head is too small to fit it so I bought a mop and coloured some strands silver and some green, fixed it in the back to look like a partial updo and the headpiece fits great now and you don't see the elastic under the "wig".
The back of the dress also bunches for me but this is due to the light fabric and the length of the zipper. I fixed it with a couple safety pins and hopefully will win 1st prize with this costume!
I also will used double sided tape to hold the leg ties on, I don't think they will stay up on their own."

"This is a really great costume. I am a size 8, I bought the medium, and it fit perfectly except for a slight bunching on the back that I expected since I had read reviews from previous purchasers. It's really great for someone with a small waistline. I think the quality is very good for a Halloween costume. I saw that some people had trouble with the headpiece. I had no trouble at all. I even had to wear it over a wig because I have very short hair. I sprayed a little gold hairspray on it to give it a little extra something, and people raved about it. It's a sexy costume without being over the top. My husband loves it. The only surprise was that the back is very open (the front is held up by straps that tie behind your neck) so if you're going to be someplace chilly, you need to keep that in mind. This is the second year I've bought my costume from buycostumes.com. I have been very happy both times and am telling everyone about it."

"this is a pretty cool costume. Looks just like the picture. fits pretty good and no complaints. I'm not sure about the head piece yet. It is a rubber cap with a elastic band under the chin. Either it's for someone with a big head or I'm wearing it wrong. I will have to make adjustments or make my own wig. I can't wait to wear this at halloween though, it is going to be fun! I am making a snake staff out of a mop handle, I have red fake nails, black lipstick, and am hopefullly going to get some green snake eye looking contacts."

"This is a fun costume that will turn heads. (Of course, from the pics you can see I took a few liberties with alterations.) First of all, the headpiece looks like a swimcap. I took a pair of scissors to it, cutting it to a width of about two inches to make it more of a headband, then weaved my hair through it. I had no problems with it - the snakes still stood up great. The dress is REALLY long, so I cut of some of that, too. I also had to cut the front and turn it into a v-neck (the halter-style made me look WAY bigger than the C I am)."

"Cosutme looks much nicer in person than it does in the online picture. Good quality costume for the price. I'm usually a large and so I ordered a large in the costume. However, I found that the costume fit a little loose. I would probably recommend getting a smaller size. I'm 5'1 and the costume is pretty long even when I'm wearing 4 inch heels. Headpiece is decent but some of the snakes were flopping around. Also the sleeves fit big. Overall, I really like the costume I cant wait to wear it."

"I received my costume, like others I was dissapointed in the headpiece. Did not look like the picture on website at all. It looks cheap. Not as many snakes and the snakes do not have open mouths like the picture. The headpiece is what made me purchase the costume so I was a little dissapointed. The dress looks exactly like website, good quality for a costume. My leg ties were missing from my package but customer service at Buycostumes is great and offered me a replacement. I'm going to try to add to my headpiece somehow."
