Fog / Mist Maker Unit

Fog / Mist Maker Unit

Please Note: Products are designed and rated for use in the United States using 120 volt current. With or without a transformer, this product is not recommended for use outside the US. Fog Maker Unit comes with complete instructions and UL Listed AC Adapter with 6' long power cord. Unit creates fog with ordinary tap water. Place unit in glass or plastic container (not included). Please Note: Video shows Fog Maker Unit inside a Plastic Bowl for illustration purposes. Bowl is not included with this product but is sold separately. Keep water level 1" - 2.5" above fogger unit for proper operation. Product Note: This product produces a bubbling stream of water as it produces fog. We recommend: Place the included plastic Splash Guard over the Fogger Unit to prevent splashing. Using a bowl that is at least 6" high or higher to prevent water from bubbling over the side. Placing a towel under unit. Placing unit on a surface that can get wet.

"This little fog machine is amazing. I can't believe it only requires water to operate. It looks great."

Title: Not bad Date: August 27, 2009
"First of all, this does come with a splash guard so I'm not sure what that previous review was about. It should be noted that this mist maker really works well in shallow bowls, not deep cauldrons. In order to get the mist to spill over the bowl, the water level needs to be close to the rim and the mist maker can only be submerged in the water for a few inches. If you have a bowl that's deeper than say 4" or 5" you can still use this but you have to get a bouy (not sold here) so it will be suspended closer to the surface. Also, your bowl cannot be too wide either. I have a 12" wide bowl and it's a bit too big. I recommend something around 6" wide in diameter to get a good mist spill over."

Title: For Fountains/Cauldrons Date: August 25, 2009
"This small mist-maker was originally produced back in the 90's for rock/waterfall fountains that were so popular. It creates a small geyser, glows red (or another color) and produces a small amount of fog to lazily drift around the rock enclosure.

You can use this item inside a cauldron to create a 'witchy' effect for Halloween, but don't expect it to produce as much fog as a regular machine.

Title: Cheap mist maker Date: November 19, 2007
"First of all, the description of this item is a bit misleading. This is NOT a fog maker. Do not confuse this with a "fog machine" that runs on fog juice. This is commonly called a "mist maker", and it creates only a small amount of mist through electrical ultrasound vibration.

The round unit is submerged in a bowl of water, and immediately it begins to generate mist. After a few minutes, the mist surrounding the bowl should be thick and flowing. This unit comes with multiple LEDs in different colors for an interesting display.

The reason I cannot recommend this product is because it does not come with a splash guard. Without a splash guard, the mist maker splashes water in an 18-inch diameter, and once the water from the bowl is gone, the unit turns off. Look for a mist maker with a splash guard that redirects the water back into the bowl and not onto your table.

Thank you for your comments on this product. You have helped all of our future customers with their purchasing decisions.

Our recommendation would be to purchase a large (and scary) serving bowl to contain the water splashes. The Screaming Spirit Bowl, for example, would make a great splash guard.

Title: Like a little fountain Date: November 17, 2007
"Thought the unit was defective because it sprays a stream of water into the air a few inches along with the mist. But the second one I ordered did the same thing and other reviewers note it as well now that I have looked. Overall the mist and color is nice but makes a wet mess of everything around it b/c of the spray. I have tried a few different bowls and water depths but still splasing water around. Not sure how to use this item but for the price under $15 can't complain too much."

Title: Fog Maker Unit Date: November 15, 2007
"For the price, this item is really great. I do agree with the other reviewer that putting the fogger into a large bowl is best due to the water that sprays upwards out of the unit. I put this into the Screaming Spirit Bowl for a little fog effect on our treat table at our Halloween party. Everyone thought it was really great."

Title: Decent Fog Maker for the Price Date: November 2, 2007
"Considering I paid less than $20 for this fog maker, I think it does a great job. At night with the lights out, it looks pretty cool with fog rolling out of the bowl (not included) and the lights changing colors. I just got it for the novelty, however; I wouldn't recommend it for setting up a creepy atmosphere at a party or anything thing like that as it does not have the power to cover the floor in fog. It merely emits enough to roll out of the bowl and dissipate (but you can't really expect any more than that for as cheap as this unit is). I should also note that it sprays water about an inch into the air, which cause more splashing than you might expect. I suggest a pan or at least a very large bowl if you want to avoid getting water all over the place."
