"When they say one size fits most, I always think it would fit up to a 10/12. This dress is about a size 4 or 6. The hand is great. I do not know if it by itself is worth 50 dollars though. I kept the costume and went and bought another night gown in white and made a cape jacket to go with it. Great ideal but the dress should come in different sizes if they are going to make it so small. I should have read the reviews before I purchased it."

"The hand is awesome! I love the hairy knuckles! I thnk it was worth the money. The standard one-size nightgown is really small. Im 5'11'', size 7 and I had trouble getting the gown on. The only part that was too big was the chest. However with the way the hand is built it would be really easy to get a different gown. The hand is well built and really really cute. I thought it woud be awkward from the picture on the site, but its just like a giant pillow and easy to move in. :D It is really fun and looks great. The gown needs work, but the hand is worth the money."

"Just as has been mentioned in other reviews - the gorilla hand is amazing. It's stuffed and "realistic" to a point, fits with a harness around the shoudlers and velcro. I want to wear it every day! The dress? HA. It says it fits up to a size 12 - when I took it out I thought it looked like a child's nightgown! The top is far more narrow than the bottom/torso area, which looks very odd. I'm a 10-12 and short, not excessively busty, and I could barely wriggle into it at all. It looked awful. Even if you can get it on, the bust area is weirdly shaped, as are the straps, and seriously, why does it narrow at the top? Hello, many ladies have stuff up there! Also the material is awful - cheap, shiny, stiff, and somehow still see through. I bought a white satin halter dress and a black satin shrug (you need something to cover the pink satin straps that anchor the gorilla hand). But even if you fit into the dress, it's so gross I don't know why you'd want to wear it. I considered altering it but my sister (who sews) said the material was so craptastic, it wasn't worth the thread you'd use. The capelet thing is ok I guess, if you find another pink satin gown but it's made of the same cheap material.
All in all? The hand makes it worthwhile, as it's to die for. But forget the dress."

"I bought this last year for Halloween and, like others, could not fit into the nightgown (and was not surprised). It was easy enough to find a pink nightgown elsewhere and make it tattered myself, but it is annoying to spend money on a costume and then not be able to use a component of it. I did use the pink jacket from the actual costume to hide the straps of the hand, because that fit fine. The hand, as stated, is indeed AWESOME, and pretty much sealed the deal for me. I had a lot of fun with this costume, despite the nightgown issue, and recommend it."

"Does not fit true to size. I would order one to two sizes bigger than your regular size. I really wanted to wear this costume but sadly had to return it, (which was a hassel in itself.) I know alot of people were buying this costume for the hand and finding a different dress with it, which is a good idea- But I personally wouldn't fork out 50$ for a hand when it doesn't even come with a dress. Finding a dress would be much more money and more time (also trying to get the hand to work with the dress would be a pain.) It's a great idea for a costume, but the dress just ruins it. P.s. It's not a white dress, it's an ugly pink one. Cheap quality too."

"I throughly enjoyed this costume. The pink slip dress that came with it was not as great as the picture. It is very sheer and cheap material. I improvised and used the white Ann Darrow dress instead. I got so many laughs and complements. Everyone wanted to try on the hand. I wore this all day and was sad when I had to take it off! GOOD TIMES!"

"This was a really cool costume. I bought the gorilla suit for my fiance and I wore this one. We had a great time and got a lot of compliments. Also, it makes a great photo because it looks like he is standing with his arm around me. The outfit was comfortable and I have no complaints on the construction. The only downfall is that the hand was a little big around so I had to keep turning it so that it faced the right way."

"I was looking for a costume that was cute (you can get away with wearing next to nothing out on Halloween) and a little bit funny and unexpected. This is definitely it if you don't mind putting in some extra work. The gorilla hand is very amusing and you can wear it without being totally covered up. The dress it comes with, however, is totally unwearable. Not only is it pink (Ann Darrow wears white in King Kong) but it is made with the cheapest, stiffest acetate fabric I've ever been unfortunate enough to touch. Though it could stand up on it's own, it's also sheer. To top it off, it has a ridiculous little bolero that has torn edges made of the same fabric. It is a total no, which I knew prior to buying thanks to someone else's review. I am making a little white sheath dress to go under it, I'm sure you could buy a white slip if you're not crafty. The hand alone is worth the money, find another dress to wear."

"The dress is pink not white, and is as expected a really cheap material, but for what it costs we made it work and it looked great with a little TLC. The hand is pretty large for a petite girl probably better fitted for a 32"+ waist. Overall worth the cost and a great unique attention getter."

"What they don't show in this photo is: 1. The dress is pink, not cream, like in the movie. 2. The dress is ripped all the way up to your panties, right in the front/middle of the dress. Tacky. 3. The dress is labled "one size fits all". On the bag, it reads, "Max size: 12". What it should read is: "Poorly constructed. At most, fits size 8 with small breasts and large hips." 4. The material is cheap, uncomfortable, and ugly.
The gorilla hand, however, is AWESOME. Which is lucky, because it is much easier to find a replacement dress than it is to find a replacement giant gorilla hand. Even the nuckles have "hair" and the nails are jagged, even the inside of the hand is realistic. I'm 5'10 and a size 12, and it fit around me perfectly. I'm still searching for the right dress/slip to wear with it, but I'm hopeful that I'll find one before Halloween.
Though I wish the dress had been better, if you just want this look, it's pretty easy to replicate once you have the hand in, uh, hand."

"This is an awesome costume! There are only two things about it that bothered me a bit. The first being that the gorilla hand doesnt seem to be stuffed enough. If it had a bit more filling/stuffing inside, I think it would look better. It seems a little too limp and almost appears a little "deflated." Also, the dress is certainly not one size fits all. I wear a size 2 or 4 and the dress is like a circus tent on me. I will be wearing another gown with it, however, I may need to buy some sort of shawl to cover up the shoulder straps for the gorilla hand.
Even with that said - the gorilla hand (beside being a little understuffed) is very nice quality and the idea of the costume is super unique! My husband wants to dress up like a big gorilla now! Haha!
I love the costume and cant wait to wear it!!"

"I wish the dress had fit better. I wear a 12 and it cuts in tight right under the chest area and I couldn't find another dress to wear with it because you need to cover the straps from the hand. The gorilla hand was awesome though and very lifelike. If only I'd been 15 pounds lighter - I wouldn't have sent it back."

"This costume is fantastic! I'm a DJ and needed a costume that required minimal hair/hat/face modifications, as I need to have my headphones on to keep the party hopping.
My costume was re-routed to my work address and i opened the box with glee amongst my coworkers, we all tried on the huge monkey hand and it turned out to be a pretty fun day at the office.
One of my coworkers is 4'11 and it looked so hilarious on her tiny frame, she decided to buy one too!
(I told my boyfriend he'll have to go as a handless gorilla now)

"I saw this costume and about died. It is the best thing I think I have ever seen. I was totally laughing and thought it was so cool! The gorilla hand is big and plush and is like a back pack, so it is comfortable to wear. The dress is nice, but you could easily use any dress or outfit with the hand since it is not attached. This is a must have for all costume lovers!"
