Title: Hot Headpiece
Date: September 29, 2008
"My husband looks really hot in this headpiece and completes his King Leonidas costume. The only problem we had with it were the sides, so we'll use double sided tape to keep them from flapping around."

Title: Wish It Was Better
Date: October 25, 2007
"I was fully aware of the material and what I was getting. I just wish it would have been a hard helemt and that the sides didn't flap around hitting my cheeks. If you plan to buy this helmet, it does make a good compliment to the Spartan Deluxe Costume. I am planning to possibly use "double sided sticky tape" and tape the helmet to my cheeks so that way it doesn't flap around. The helmet is also fairly bigger than the average human head so I may end up using a beanie or 2 in order for it to fit better."

Title: Cute Item
Date: October 23, 2007
"The headpiece was cute but after we received it I think it was a little costly for the quality. It also smelled bad so we had to "air" it out before using it. The shipping was extremely fast."

Title: This Thing Needs Work
Date: October 20, 2007
"I have a big head and this thing is just flopping all over the place. The tail hair was falling out before i even touched it. When i saw it was $50.00 I was expecting something with a lot better quality than the helmet that came with the costume. This one is pretty much the same thing just a lot more expensive. I am going to have to do a lot of reconstructive sergery on the helmet and costume to make it fit better and look more authentic. Sorry for the bad review. I am just such a big fan of the movie 300 and was expecting more."

Title: Over exagerated
Date: October 17, 2007
"I was all excited when I saw this online. But like the other reviews. It is latex not a helmet and way over priced. I hope I can make it work before Halloween."

Title: Practical only with MASSIVE alterations.
Date: October 17, 2007
"I also bought this product thinking it was a HELMET. It's beautifully rendered, but is not a helmet. It's a mask. And it's big and floppy. The top crest falls to the side, the cheek guards flop, and the nose piece twists. To remedy this I put a hard roman costume helmet inside, trimed away the neck guard on the hard helmet and screwed the mask onto it. The crest on the hard roman helmet holds up the crest on the Leonidas mask. I duct taped pieces of wire coat hangers onto the hard helmet under the mask and ran them into the cheek guards, regluing the guards afterward. I reinforced the nose in the same way. I also added a strap to hold the thing on my head. So, after adding a hard helmet, coat hangers, a tube of glue, and a chin strap, the thing is servicable. And still looks good. Unless you're willing to put some work into it, I wouldn't buy this product."
"this helmet looks great; but is HUGE!! my husband has to wear a beanie underneath it so that it fits. also, the picture looks like the crest of the helmet is hair when in fact it is latex and the tail is hair. i think it's pretty over priced for what it is, but it looks good; nice detail...looks like the movie. it should be made a little smaller, i don't think the average man's head is that big!"

Title: Not what I expected, but good.
Date: September 30, 2007
"When I ordered the Leonidas helmet, I was expecting a helmet. What I got was a latex mask that was way too big for my head. Also, there were some quality issues with the way certain parts of the helmet were glued on, and rather than return it, i just super glued them myself. If you go into this purchase knowing that this will be more of a mask than a hard, plastic helmet, you will be ok. The attention to detail with regards to battle scars is fantastic, but the price doesn't seem to fit the product. Buy costumes.com was better priced than most for this, but it still seemed more like a $30 product than a $50 product.
If you want to be Leonidas this year, there aren't many alternatives even close to this price range, so this is your mask."

Title: Don't waste your money
Date: September 26, 2007
"I should have read the description more carefully when it was listed as "soft flexible plastic." The bottom of the mask wobbles more like a turkey neck than a Spartan warrior. Save your money and go for another helmet."

Title: Okay but not great.
Date: September 19, 2007
"It is not really accurate to describe what I recieved as a "helmut". It really is a glorified "mask". It is rubberized and not sturdy at all. The picture is extremely misleading. Also, there is no fake hair on top of the "helmut".... it is just another painted black rubber-part of the mask. Also, the sides of the "helmut" are not firm and flop very annoyingly from side to side from even the most basic of head movement. I will have to wire it up and do something to make it FAR more sturdy than it is. Overall.... it will work fine for Halloween.... but it is a misleading picture. The advertisement was truthful when it described the helmut as "vinyl". It is my own fault that I never appreciated that "vinyl" is just a gloried word for "rubber". In short, no part of this helmut is hard plastic or metal. It is just basic rubber (vinyl).... and contrary to the photograph..... it looks that way when you wear it. Again.... be prepared to do some wiring with it to make the structure of the helmut more firm and strong. Also..... despite no fake hair.... it does have a fake bit of hair along the back of the helmut... but it is not braided like in the movie. Another thing you will have to do yourself."
"When I received this headpiece it was a big rubber ball. Not what I would have expected for $49.99. The side pieces that come down by the cheaks were coming unglued and the hair in the back of the head was all falling out. Th top hair looks real in the picture online but it is just rubber formed. This was poorly made!"
