"I ordered the Wicked Witch of the West costume for my wife. It was difficult finding one that looked authentic - that is, until I clicked onto Buycostumes.com. Not only did they have the most authentic OZ Wicked Witch costume, but the price was fantastic. There are thousands of cheap, "sexy witch" costumes out there which are boring and un-imaginative, but my wife loves the Wizard of OZ, nothing else would do.
The trick-or-treaters absolutely loved the costume - it was a huge hit. We had a blast. I'm thinking about getting the Flying Monkey costume for next year so we can be a team.
Even more surprising, was when I received the costume and opened the box. I was blown away at the quality of the materials used, and the care of the stitching. No errant threads, no missed or inaccurate stitching... overall, a nice piece of work. You just don't get this kind of quality at those Halloween "Superstores" - they only sell cheap junk. I will never buy a costume anywhere except BuyCostumes.com.
The size runs just a little small, so order one size larger than what you'd normally wear.

"Good value for the money. GREAT personal service on the phone helping me decide on my costume. Great quality: fabric, finishing, sizing. Fits true to the size given in the guide. Good length for my height. I had read a review that the net interfacing in the shoulder seams was scratchy on the skin. This had not been corrected but I was prepared with a camisole. I had ordered it to arrive at my hotel in Seattle, Washington (the Emerald City:-) for a Wizard of Oz party -- it came, fit perfectly, and was ready to go. Even came with a suit bag to carry it in!"

"This costume is the most well made costume that I have ever purchased. I bought a 2x which is a little larger then I needed. But going into this I wanted a costume that I could move in and it not be too tight. The Wicked Witch of the West needs to be able to move. I Appeared as the witch in a production and also turned around and won a costume contest. It said dry clean only. The costume is polyester and I washed it in cold water on delicate and it looks like new with no issues. Make sure to check buttons before washing. Mine wear sewed on and did not come off in the wash. I would say if you want to be the best looking Wicked Witch of the West this is the costume for you. It’s worth the money."

"The costume was true to the picture. The quality was excellent. The fit however, was not. I ordered a small and recieved a small cape, small slip and a medium dress. The hat was too small to stay on my head. The dress was just right without any shirt underneath (I'm 5'1" 100 lbs). We live in the midwest and Halloween weather can be hit or miss. It was a miss and the cool air went right through the fabric without a shirt on underneath. The day before Halloween was very humid and I was way too hot. I also had to have the dress shortened. My daughter wouldn't let me wear it for a while becuase she was afraid. I looked too much like the Wicked Witch of the West! I did receive many comments on how authentic the costume was."

"I LOVE this costume and can not wait to use it!!! I read prior reviews regarding the size...and my size was the lower of the two numbers in the size category and it fit PERFECTLY!! So I think the lower size listed in the category is the true size. Also my hat size is a size 7-7/14 and this hat fit ok on me with my hair pulled back. It was just a bit snug if I left my hair down. Overall the quality is GREAT and I think it's a great deal. I also got the make-up kit and the shoes which I will comment on after the 30th. I will be using this costume as part of an office theme at a conference being held during halloween and based on the quality I am sure that I will definately use it in the future years."

"By far, this witch costume is the best I've ever encountered! It comes nicely packaged, on a hanger in a suit bag, with a pocket inside the bag to place accessories. There is netting inside where the sleeve meets the shoulder seam, which I need to cover, as it is a bit scratchy. Also, I recommend that you buy it one size larger than you ordinarily wear. But, the look is tops. It is so ME! I anticipate being able to use this costume for many years, both at Halloween and Fasching (German equivalent of Mardi Gras). My debut was at our office Halloween festivities. Employees are encouraged to bring their children in the afternoon for safe 'Trick-orTreating,' and staff members may choose to participate if they wish. (Halloween is starting to catch on in Germany, but is not as I remember it in my youth!) My boss passed me in the hallway and had no clue it was me. I was voted 'scariest' by my co-workers--a title I've sought for many years at work!!"

"I have dressed up over the years using a black dress with a jacket and a hat from the local store. A group of girls from the office decided to do the Wizzard of OZ theme and enter a contest with our County. Not only did everyone think I had the best Witch costume, the children thought I really was the real witch from OZ. I got the shoes and make-up also. The cape that comes with the costume makes the dress look so good with it's bright green lining. I am 64 years old, am told i don't look my age, but I have dressed up for halloween all my life. At first I thought the price was a little high, however, once it came and I saw the workmenship, I was amazed that I had paid so little for the quality of work that went into this garmet. I will be able to use this for years to come."

"I loved this costume, and had a great reaction to it, however, I had to order three of these costumes to finally get one that fit. I normally wear a 14/16 on top, and a 12/14 on bottom. I have a larger chest, which was one of the problems. I first ordered an XL, then a 1X and finally the 2X. The costume is itchy on the inside, but I wore a long sleeved shirt underneath and was fine. I am 5'7" and loved the length as it brushed the ground. I scared so many children, including a few of my first graders. They absolutely loved it. Overall, this was a great costume. Make sure to check the sizing chart before you purchase, otherwise you can spend upwards of $40 to ship back costumes that do not fit."

"I love this costume overall. It seems to be great quality and it is fun. The only criticisms I have are that the hat is too small for an adult. Also I ended up with red scratches on both shoulders because the inside of the puff sleeve at the seam was really sharp! And that was only after wearing it for a few hours. So basically the second time i wore the costume I stuffed fabric under the seams to avoid this. Other than that it is a great buy."

"I am not kidding - I have worked in theater and this is the greatest costume that I have ever purchased. I was a bit nervous ordering on line because I am picky about quality but I was really satified with the quality of this costume. I would recommend this very comfortable costume to anyone who is looking for a professional nice fitting great costume. It looked like I had made it myslef and had it fitted professionally. It comes with a crenilan slip that really puts the finishing touch on an already fabulous look. I wish that the hat would have had a strap because any little breeze comes up and catches it and whips it off of your head so I have sewn a couple of black ribbons on it. Looks great and I love this item."
