"I'm a photographer who specialises in pinup/retro styled shoots. I got this outfit for a bit of fun. Normally I use vintage outfits. This photoshoot was a huge success and a lot of people have commented on how cute this outfit was.

I bought a small/medium, and although it fit my model well, I did think the fit was a little small.

"I recently ordered this costume based on the reviews. I wanted a cute/sexy sailor costume that wasn't too over the top. I'm 5'6", 135lbs...and I must tell ya ladies...it IS short. I ordered the M/L. It's super cute and really fun. I will have to wear some kind of cute boyshorts to help with the shortness factor, but overall I am very pleased with it. The hat seems a little small to me, but not sure if that is how it is suppose to fit. I would definitely recommend this costume!

I did purchase the life preserver handbag...totally worth $12 and completes the costume!"

"I am a bartender and I wore this costume for Memorial Day. I got a ton of compliments from both sexes but the boys really seemed to like the costume. The only issue I had with the piece is that the zipper in the back is too long. It reached my bum which cause the seam to poke out in such a way that it looked like I had a tail. Other than the zipper, I thought that this sailor costume was awesome!"

"I bought this costume and loved it!! I actually tried it on in the store and then purchased it online...the costume held up really well despite our wild festivities. "I wore this costume for Halloween and everyone loved it. It is a bit darker blue, but who really cares? I was always under the impression that sailors wore dark navy anyways. The only thing was the hat was very flimsy, I had to buy a new one. The anchor on the front of the hat does peel off easily so I glued it to the new one. All in all I LOVED it."

"This outfit was perfect after just a few tweaks... Being that the zipper made four humps on my back, i took it completely out. I also took 2 inches off the length... After that- It was perfect! I had an awesome time in this costume! Made for great photo ops when I came across soldiers, marines, air force, etc dress people!"

"This costume is so cute. I wore it to work with a tshirt and jeans underneath to make it more work appropriate. I got compliments all day long about how cute I looked. It is very short, but I'm 5'9". I normally wear a size 8, and the medium/large fit well. It has a halter-style neck which you can't really tell from the picture, and it is more of a navy colour. The hat stayed on all day with minimal adjustment. I'm planning on wearing it later with thigh highs and a pair of frilly shorts instead. Once again I am very pleased with my buycostumes purchase!"

"I bought this item expecting it to be royal blue like pictured in the picture shown. It is actuall more of a navy blue. I bought the blue sailor shoes as well and they are royal blue so they don't match. The material wasn't as nice as some of the costumes that i've bought from this website. It looks thicker in the picture than it actually is. The hat fits funny, it kinda looks like a nurse hat. and the costume could pass for a raggedy ann costume without it. I cut the red striped part out and took the bow off...so now it's just blue and white. It looks more sailor like to me now. I will have to wear a white tube top under the costume but it doesn't look bad. I guess I was disappointed because I thought the costume was going to be cuter on me than it actually was =/
I weigh 145lbs. and I ordered the meduim/large...it fits perfect, and it is not too short, well not for me anyway...to some girls it may be."

"I was a little unsure about purchasing this costume, but I am glad I did. Make sure you note the costume is much darker than the photo appears...it is a deep midnight navy blue. I was worried about sizing with this costume because last year I ordered a one-size-fits-all and it was enormous on me. I ordered a small/medium. I am a size 4 in most places and am 5'2" and the small/medium fits but it is definitely form fitting. I was considering returning it so I could have a little more room, but I am worried the medium/large will be way too big. It is long enough for me, and I am wearing it with tights under it to provide extra coverage. The costume really is adorable. It isn't too revealing at the top, but it is sexy enough to show a little without falling out.

You can't tell from the picture, but it is a halter-top with an open back, so make sure you have a strapless bra for it or clear straps. It is definitely cute and I am exicted to wear it for halloween!"

"I bought this for my friends Seven Seas Themed Birthday Party.
I haven't partied with it yet but I'm sure it will be a hit!
It is short...but so am I so its long enough for me! :)
If you have a long torso or are just tall just wear some short shorts with it.
I really like the cut of the dress the pleats are so cute and sweet.
I'm not really into the hat but I will say it is good quality and stays up...I think I just don't like it on me.
I also bought the life preserver bag which matches so well with this costume."

"I usually have to buy teen size 7-9 to get costumes to fit so I am hesitant to get Women's Small outfits. This outfit fits true to size, does not run big, is a true Women's small. Skirt barely covers rear but works with a pair of briefs or ruffle panties. Hat needs ironed out to shape for wearing. Sailor outfit has cute back flap with emblem, cute halter fit, and front cuts a little low to show off assets if desired. I love it!"
