"I purchased the Sponge Bob costume for my 6 year old grandson and took the advice of another reviewer. I ordered a small instead of a medium and it fits him to a "T". He is so excited about it and cannot wait to wear it on halloween. I do advise ordering a size smaller than the age group advertsed."

Title: Really cute costume, but sizes run large! Date: February 5, 2009
"This costume is incredibly cute and fun and of excellent quality with good foam padding (yet thin enough to be comfortable). The only thing to note is that sizes are confusing and run large.

I ordered size M. On the package it says "8-10 (recommended for children 5-7 years old)". This is obviously confusing -- if the M size is for kids 5-7 then why is the size called "8-10"? I ordered this for my 7 year old, and it was TOO LARGE.

So keep in mind: Size M (8-10) is in fact for children 8-10 years old, and NOT (as stated on the package) for children 5-7.

Children 5-7: Size S
Children 8-10: Size M

I hope this helps with choosing the correct size. Otherwise the costume is incredible and the best SpongeBob costume I have seen. Highly recommended!"

"My son looked so adorable in this costume and the kids went nuts when they saw him!!!! He was loving it!!!! My son wore this to two functions, one of which he was very physically active and the costume took a beating and never tore and still looks great!!! Material is like a spongy material but very tough!!! Would recommend to others in a heartbeat!!!"
