"These boots are very cute and its nice that they have interchangeable ribbons so I can match them to my outfits. They where easy to get on and off. However after wearing them for a while they did start to slouch. But I'm pretty sure thats how pirate boots are suppose to look so it wasnt that bad. They did not fall to my ankles. They where also comfortable which is very important to me."

"I wore these with a cop costume, the good part was that the boots came with extra ribbons, which i changed to black. The downside to this product was that I wore them for 4 hours straight and my feet killed afterwards!!"

Title: Look great, feel ok

"I bought these boots to go with the Captain Swashbuckler costume. They look really great with the outfit, especially with the red ribbons. I wore the outfit to work the day before Halloween. I work in an office environment, so I get to sit most of the day. I did a fair share of standing/walking around during the morning as we were all mingling and taking pictures of all the costumes. 2.5 hours into the work day, I was in serious pain. Luckily, I could easily slip these off while I was sitting at my desk. I cannot imagine wearing these for 4+ hours straight if you're going to be on your feet the whole time. Then again, maybe I'm just a wimp when it comes to footwear. I'm still glad I bought them. My costume would not have been nearly as great as it was without these boots. Just don't expect miracles in terms of comfort.

I normally wear 8-8.5, and I bought the boots in a 9. In terms of sizing, they fit great. Someone else mentioned that the boots tend to slouch a bit. I did find this to be the case, but I think that's part of the style for pirate boots and I didn't have a problem with it. It was just a slight slouch. It wasn't like they were sliding down my legs."

The ankle bend

"These boots were really cute and they arrived really quickly. I'm normally a 7 1/2 and the 8 fit great. The problem i have with them is there is no way to tighten around the calf. They don't actually tie and the leg part is just a bad plether pull up material. Everytime you walk it starts to scrunch down by the ankle. Maybe if my calfs were massive, but i already can't buy normal knee high boots in my size because i have (what i thought to be) big calves, but not with these.
They are cute and if you don't mind having an ugly bend at your ankles then i guess they are ok. I'm returning them though."

"i love these boots i ordered them for halloween,, i live in canada and go them and my costume 8 days later!!! i ordered them a size bigger, a 9 , i usually wear an 8 and they fit perfect so i def recommend getting a size bigger than you normally would be. there very light so easy to wear throught the evening!! and they come with diff coloured ribbons for the sides these look wicked with me priate costume! def would say these were well worth the 50 dollars!!"

"Very happy with these boots. I wear a size 7 or 7 1/2 depending on the shoe and bought a size 8 in this boot since they are not real leather. So far they seem to be pretty comfortable walking around the house. Glad I bought them."

"I bought these boots to go with my pirate vixen costume. I normally wear a size 7.5 and I bought an 8 and they fit perfect. They were VERY tight so I needed to stuff them tight for a few days to stretch them out, then they felt great. The heel is really high but if you are used to that you wont have a problem, otherwise you definately need to wear them for a few days to get used to them. I preferred the red laces on the sides- They looked HOT with my costume. Very good quality for the price too!"

Title: PAINFUL!!!

"Buyer beware! While these boots are absolutely gorgeous, they are not comfortable after an hour. If you are planning on wearing these to a party and dancing for longer than an hour, you will be in excruciating pain after about an hour and a half. It hurt so bad that I had to de-lace them to walk back to the car. They do make for very pretty pictures, but bring an extra pair of shoes to change into when the going gets rough!"

"I wasn't sure what to expect of the boots since I have never purchased a pair of shoes online without trying them on. However, they fit perfectly and are very comfortable. Title: Great Look - A Little Snug...

"I purchased these boots last year...and loved them. These boots went great with the elite pirate costume. The boots were a little difficult to put on at first, but there are zippers in the back to help. The boots are great looking and would consider wearing with jeans.

If you can handle the boot being a little snug, this is a great item! I would say these boots run a 1/2 size smaller...so if you are half size, order a size larger and wear thick socks. Recommend wearing the around the house for an hour for a few days....walking on the carpet to help break them in.

When the boots arrived, I was really pleased to see they were normal shoes and not cheap/poor constructed shoes."

"I ordered a size 6 and when they arrived it was clear they looked like a size 5. I've returned them since but refused to purchase another size just in case I had the same problem. I needed these by the 26th and didn't want to risk it. However, I must say they really would have completed the costume :("

"I was a bit hesitant on these, but am very glad I purchased them. I wear a 7 1/2 and these only come in whole sizes. I ordered an 8 and they are perfect. They come with three different colored ribbons, I prefer the red ribbons with my costume. Comfortable and well made."

Title: Great match with Pirate Vixen Costume

"Yes, they come with 3 colors of ribbon (black red and burgandy) The splash of color really sets off an outfit and your legs. I already had high heeled leather boots and could have easily worn them with pirate costume. But these "pirate" boots with color coordinated ribbon help make my red and black pirate outfit stand out. Burgandy ribbon would match the burgandy jacket in the "elegant lady" pirate costume (my spouse is also in red and black so I chose pirate vixen).

I noticed other reviewer said she was disappointed she bought up a size. I was glad I bought up a size. Usually wear an 8 M, bought a 9 and found them tight on the arch and a difficult to pull on. Once the boot was on the fit was good. I'm used to heels and they felt like normal heels so be prepared if your standing on concrete all night. I did notice my feet tended to be hot in the man made material, but I still find them more dramatic than my black leather high heeled boots for the outfit (not to mention my husband thought they looked sexier). I might also add that although other vendors sell the pirate vixen costume locally, none of local costume vendors sell these red ribbon boots. So even as I am highly recommending these boots and perhaps you're considering buying them to go with same costume 'cause they are the bomb when all matched up I hope we arent attending the same party!"

"Bought these boots recently to go with a "sexy pirate" costume. They're of better quality than anything I was able to find in a store. Surprisingly comfortable and well-made considering they're "costumey." Nice that they come with 3 different colors of ribbons so you can match your costume. I went a size up for comfort, probably could've stuck to my usual size. Overall good purchase, I'd recommend."
